Men's Soccer team: One Away From Districts!

The Saint Mary’s Eagles (8-7) showed great sportsmanship and potential for the playoffs on Thursday, October 22nd at Murdock High School. The Eagles dominated against the Blue Devils and won 7-2 without receiving any cards in the last two games.

David Jasukonis '10 lead the Eagles by scoring the first goal for the Eagles starting their outstanding scoring streak in the first half. The senior captain went onto score a second goal off an accurate header and get the only hat trick of the game against Murdock High School with the help of Justin Morrison '13 and Adam Filewicz '10 with assists on both goals. Danquor Bloomfield '10 scored the third unassisted for the Eagles off of a beautiful cross from the outside corner and went onto score again adding another goal to his list this season. Filewicz came forth for the Eagles putting another one in the back of the net assisted by Morrison. Senior Pawel Gawedzki '10 scoredhis first goal of the season from a cross pass off senior Aaron Going ’10. For both seniors, this was surely an electric moment for both defensemen.

The backline for the Eagles was also outstanding with defenders Travis Van Dale ’10, Paul Chojnowshi ’11, and Buddy Hayfron ’10 limiting the shots on goaltender Carlos D'Olivera '11. D'Olivera played well in net, shuting out the Blue Devils in the second half.
