St Mary's 1 - Maimonides 2
The Saint Mary's Eagles (7-7) played a solid match against opponent the Maimonides at Murray Park (Portsmouth Park) in Allston, MA, but in the end lost with the score 2-1.
The offense played well, but could not break the Maimonides' wall until senior Travis Van Dale '10 scored from a pass off senior David Jasukonis '10. Van Dale, who plays defense normally, used a header to score in the first half. "He finally used his head for something", coach Dave Desroches responded after the game.
However, the lonesome goal in the first half could not hold the Maimonides who eventually scored two goals. Maimonides scored their first goal on a breakaway and their second off a kick from the top of the goalkeeper's box.
The Saint Mary's Eagles will now face foe Murdock High School on Thursday, October 22nd. The game will begin at 3:30PM.
